Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. in Bangalore, India is seeking a Buyer to procure materials, supplies, machinery and services for our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.

You will collaborate across teams, monitor inventory, manage delivery schedules and negotiate with suppliers to transform possibilities into realities for our customers and teams. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and may prefer up to 1 year of related experience, with a focus on material cost management and purchase order

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• Up to 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Understanding of material cost management, shortage management, supplier capability, PO management and related procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to keep manufacturing fast and high quality.
• Follow-up on orders, verify delivery, approve payments and maintain records.
• Adhere to standard purchasing processes.
• Coordinate timely delivery/shipment with suppliers and resolve shipment/billing issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and program managers to resolve supply issues.
• Negotiate and execute purchase orders and RFQs to drive cost efficiency while ensuring quality.
• Support inventory optimization and alignment with MRP needs.

As a Buyer, you'll be responsible for purchasing the materials, supplies, machinery, and services that equip our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. You'll collaborate across teams and showcase your organization and strategic planning skills to monitor inventory, manage delivery scheduling, negotiate with suppliers, and procure essential items that transform possibilities into realities for our customers and teams.

Role Responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Follow-up on orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.
• Adhere to standard purchasing business processes.
• Proactively drive and ensure timely delivery/shipment of parts from supplier to Applied factories, including resolution of shipment/receiving and billing issues with supplier.
• Partner with suppliers on demand/supply collaboration.
• Execute and manage pull‑ins/push‑outs with suppliers to meet MRP demand.
• Drive inventory and E&Z reduction efforts.
• Negotiate and execute purchase and RFQ to drive the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need, with support from more experienced buyer.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, manufacturing, Program Managers) to resolve supply issue.
