Job summary

RGBSI in Chennai is seeking a Paint CFD Engineer fresher for the Manufacturing Industry. You will engage in design reviews, validate ED coating processes, and prepare process documents like FMEA and control plans. Ideal candidates hold ME/MTech in Thermal Engineering, 0–1 year experience, and knowledge of CATIA V6, Teamcenter, and CFD/CAE basics.

Qualifications

• ME/MTech in Thermal Engineering is mandatory.
• Exposure to CATIA-V6 and Teamcenter.
• Sound knowledge of automobile paint shop processes (ED, topcoat, paint mixing).
• CFD/CAE basics required;AUTOCAD knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct design reviews of styling and data; provide feedback to design team.
• Ensure production requirements (PR checks) are adopted in new model design.
• Verify ED coating, air pockets, and draining in BIW; analyze ED painting simulations.
• Study plant-side feasibility for new models; adopt new model processes.
• Prepare process documents (POS, FMEA, Control plans).
• Support new model vehicle trials and implement countermeasures for design issues.
• Develop jigs/slave tools for new models; coordinate with suppliers.

Must have skill:

• Ensuring production requirements (PR check) Adoption in New model design.
• ED Coating Air pocket and draining confirmation on BIW by checking the BOX structures in Vehicle and analyzing the ED painting Simulation results.
• Plant side Unique Facility Feasibility requirement study and adopt the new model.
• Direct material cost, Project investment requirement Study for New model.
• Design and Development of New Jigs/Slave Tools for New model.
• Supporting new model vehicle trials and making counter measures for their Design related issues.
• ED Coating – Air pocket and draining confirmation on BIW by checking the BOX structures in Vehicle and analyzing the ED painting Simulation results.
• Preparation of Process Documents Like (POS, FMEA, Control plan etc.)
• Proving out Process (PTED, Sealer & Topcoat) Parameter for New Model & Provide Counter measure for Non-Achieve Points.
• Responsible for deciding definition of bi-Tone Process. Work for target masking time achievement.
• Candidate should understand the overall paint shop process.

Requirements

• Should have exposure in Software like CATIA -V6 , Team Centre.
• Sound knowledge in automobile paint shop process with special experience in ED, topcoat line, paint mixing room, Repair touchup line.
• Problem solving & defect root cause analyzing ability, experience in control system, PLC, Effective coordination & handling equipment, and paint material suppliers.
• Knowledge on CFD & CAE basics
• Knowledge on Auto CAD will be an added advantage.
