Job summary

SEGULA Technologies is seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer in Chennai to design, validate, and implement expendable packaging for production materials, parts, and operations. You will evaluate packaging needs, collaborate with Tier-1 suppliers, and support industrialization and launches.

Role emphasizes sustaining material protection while maximizing transport and warehouse efficiency, plus participation in packaging trials and line-side assessments to ensure readiness for production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Packaging Engineering within an automotive or industrial manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting manufacturing industrialization and production launches.
• Hands-on experience with expendable packaging development.
• Experience working with Tier-1 suppliers and supplier packaging approvals.
• Knowledge of returnable packaging systems is an advantage.
• Experience in warehouse operations, logistics, and material flow optimization.
• Automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier experience is highly preferred.
• 2D/3D, design, develop, and implement expendable packaging solutions for production materials, purchased parts, and operational supplies.

Responsibilities

• Develop packaging concepts for production materials, purchased parts, and supplies.
• Evaluate characteristics like size, weight, fragility, handling, transport, and storage to pick effective packaging.
• Conduct packaging validation trials, transport simulations, and line-side evaluations before production.
• Collaborate with suppliers during new product launches to ensure packaging readiness and compliance.
• Support engineering changes requiring packaging modifications.
