Job summary

Coherent Corp. India is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to design, implement, and manage Oracle DBs across OCI, SaaS ERP/SCM/PLM and on-prem environments. You will lead migrations to OCI, optimize resources, and ensure high availability with Data Guard, GoldenGate, RMAN, and OEM monitoring.

The role involves 24×7 support, patching, and collaboration with development teams. Finisar India (Subsidiary of Coherent Corp) operates in a hybrid work mode (3 days in office). Coherent Corp.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing and administering Oracle databases.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and migrations to OCI.
  • Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS).
  • Strong knowledge of RMAN, OEM and backup tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and administer Oracle DB environments across OCI, SaaS apps and on-prem.
  • Lead end-to-end Oracle app and database migrations to OCI.
  • Provision, configure, and manage OCI services including Compute, VCN, Object Storage, IAM, Autonomous Database.
  • Optimize OCI infrastructure for cost and performance.
  • Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Plan and execute zero or near-zero downtime migrations and cross-platform methods.
  • Support 24×7 production environments and on-call rotations.

Job description

  • Design, implement, and administer Oracle database environments across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle SaaS applications such as ERP Fusion, SCM and PLM along with on-premises platforms, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Lead and support end-to-end Oracle application and database migrations from on-premises environments to OCI, including assessment, planning, execution, validation, and post-migration support.
  • Provision, configure, and manage OCI services including Compute, Virtual Cloud Networks (VCN), Block Volumes, Object Storage, Load Balancers, IAM, Autonomous Database, VPN/FastConnect, and Backup & Recovery services supporting Oracle workloads.
  • Optimize OCI infrastructure by right-sizing compute resources, storage, networking, backups, licensing, and overall cloud cost and performance.
  • Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions using Oracle Data Guard, RAC, Oracle GoldenGate, and OCI-native services.
  • Plan and execute zero or near-zero downtime database migrations using Oracle GoldenGate, Data Guard, RMAN Duplicate, Data Pump (expdp/impdp), Transportable Tablespaces, and cross-platform migration methodologies.
  • Design, implement, administer, and optimize Oracle Database (19c/21c/23ai/26ai) environments, including Single Instance and RAC deployments across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, patch, upgrade, clone, and maintain Oracle databases and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) production and non-production environments.
  • Support Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), Oracle databases, engineering databases, and other enterprise applications as part of a global DBA team.
  • Provide day-to-day administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support for Oracle Applications and databases, ensuring high availability and operational stability.
  • Perform Oracle EBS environment refreshes, cloning, application patching, and technology stack maintenance using Oracle-recommended tools and utilities.
  • Weblogic Installation, upgrade and administration
  • Implement, maintain, and validate backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and enterprise backup solutions such as Dell EMC Avamar, Commvault, or NetApp Snapshot technologies.
  • Monitor database and application health using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and custom monitoring solutions; proactively resolve performance, capacity, and availability issues.
  • Perform Oracle database performance tuning, SQL optimization, indexing strategies, AWR/ASH analysis, and capacity planning.
  • Develop and maintain Shell, SQL, and PL/SQL scripts to automate database administration, monitoring, and operational tasks.
  • Manage database security, user access, SSL certificates, encryption, and compliance with organizational security standards and best practices.
  • Execute database changes through established Change Management processes and participate in release planning, deployments, and production support activities.
  • Collaborate with application developers and cross-functional teams to review database changes, optimize SQL performance, and support new application development initiatives.
  • Participate in 24×7 production support and on-call rotations, providing timely resolution of critical incidents and ensuring service availability.

Education & Experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including database provisioning, administration, migration, and operational support.
  • Experience with Agile, Demantra, Salesforce, Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), and engineering Oracle databases.
  • Oracle database upgrade, migration, and on premises to OCI cloud migration experience is highly desired.
  • Experience in Production Support and Project Support is required.
  • Experience using tools such as Commvault, Avamar, Spotlight, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), RMAN, and ITSM/ticketing tools.
  • Any Oracle Database or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) certification is a plus.
  • Strong change management skills and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player, comfortable working in a 24×7 Production Support environment with on-call rotation.
