Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a Power BI/Fabric and SQL Developer to join the BI Analytics and Reporting team in Hyderabad.

You will design interactive dashboards, develop complex T-SQL queries, and build robust ETL pipelines using SSIS/SSRS to support data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MCA or IT.
• 3–5 years hands-on experience with MS SQL Server, Power BI, SSIS and SSRS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs using Power BI/Fabric and SSRS.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views and objects in MS SQL Server.
• Design, develop, and maintain SSIS ETL packages for data integration and transformation.
• Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
• Design and optimize data models to improve report performance and data retrieval.
• Monitor and optimize performance of reports, dashboards, SQL queries and ETL processes.
• Validate data and ensure accuracy and integrity across reporting solutions.

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented Power BI/Fabric and SQL Developer to join our BI Analytics and Reporting team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI/Fabric, SSRS, and SSIS, with experience in designing and developing interactive dashboards, reports, KPIs, and ETL solutions. The role involves developing and optimizing complex T-SQL queries, designing efficient data models, and delivering scalable, high-performance reporting solutions that support business intelligence and data-driven decision-making. Experience with MES Opcenter/Camstar or manufacturing systems is an added advantage.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and KPIs using Power BI/Fabric and SSRS.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects in Microsoft SQL Server.
• Design, develop, and maintain SSIS ETL packages for data integration and transformation.
• Collaborate with business users to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
• Design and optimize data models to improve report performance and ensure efficient data retrieval.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of reports, dashboards, SQL queries, and ETL processes.
• Perform data validation and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues, provide timely resolutions, and support ongoing reporting and ETL operations.
• Follow established development standards, coding best practices, and documentation requirements.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality business intelligence solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Education & Experience

• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science engineering, MCA, or M.Sc. (IT/Computer Science) or related fields.
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, SSIS, and SSRS.

Skills & Other Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Power BI/ Fabric, including DAX, Power Query (M), and data visualization best practices.
• Expertise in developing and optimizing complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and database objects.
• Ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries and index analysis.
• Experience in designing data models and developing ETL solutions using SSIS.
• Good understanding of relational database design, data warehousing concepts, and BI best practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Programming experience in C#, Python is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Experience in developing interactive dashboards, reports, and KPIs for business users.
• Familiarity with source control systems such as Git is an added advantage.
• Exposure to cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure) is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving business requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience or knowledge of Siemens Opcenter (MES/Camstar) is an added advantage.
• Exposure to manufacturing business processes and MES reporting is preferred.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and BI best practices is a plus.

Working Conditions

• Must be flexible to work and provide support across different Coherent global time zones as business needs require.
• May be required to participate in off-hours support, production deployments, and critical issue resolution to ensure business continuity.
• Will collaborate with global teams across multiple geographic locations in a hybrid and cross-functional work environment.
