Job summary

Capgemini in India is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our Mumbai team. You will manage and optimize Oracle database environments, ensure high availability, and support mission‑critical applications across on‑premises and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Oracle 12c/19c/21c, RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN, along with strong SQL/PLSQL skills, Linux/Unix proficiency, and a focus on security and performance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Oracle Database 12c/19c/21c or higher.
• Experience with RAC/Data Guard/ASM.
• Patching/upgrades/migrations experience.
• Strong Linux/Unix knowledge and production troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Oracle Database environments.
• Manage upgrades, migrations, patches, and refresh activities.
• Monitor performance and proactively identify optimization opportunities.
• Perform database tuning, SQL tuning, and performance troubleshooting.
• Manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN.
• Configure and support High Availability (HA) solutions including RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
• Implement database security, user management, and access controls.
• Perform capacity planning, storage management, and database health checks.
• Troubleshoot production issues within defined SLAs.
• Support application deployment, release management, and database changes.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Prepare and maintain operational documentation and SOPs.

Your Role

We are seeking experienced Oracle Database Administrators (Oracle DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, monitoring, optimizing, and securing Oracle database environments while ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of mission‑critical applications.

Your Profile

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues within defined SLAs.
• Support application deployment, release management, and database changes.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Prepare and maintain operational documentation and SOPs.

• Hands‑on experience with: Oracle Database 12c, 19c, 21c or higher, Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle ASM, RMAN Backup Recovery, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Database Performance Tuning, SQL PL/SQL
• Experience in database patching, upgrades, cloning, and migration activities.
• Strong knowledge of database security, auditing, and compliance standards.
• Experience managing large‑scale production environments.
• Good understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.
