Job summary

People's Growth HR Solutions in Mumbai seeks an Oracle Administrator with strong RDBMS knowledge to install, configure, monitor, and optimize Oracle databases in a production environment.

You will own backup strategy, performance tuning, patching, replication and capacity planning, while working with development teams and vendors to ensure reliability and licensing compliance.

Qualifications

• Install and configure new Oracle Servers
• Configure Oracle Server monitoring utilities
• Ensure all database servers are backed up meeting the business RPO
• Test backups to meet the business RTO
• Troubleshoot Oracle Server service outages, including after-hours and weekends
• Install and configure clustering, log shipping, mirroring, replication, etc
• Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors
• When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
• Document the company's database environment
• Design indexes for existing applications, choosing when to add or remove indexes
• Using Profiler traces and other tools to find the most frequently run queries; help developers improve performance by tweaking queries or indexes
• Find out list of the top 10 most resource-intensive queries on the server and suggest improvements
• To migrate and upgrade database
• Sound knowledge of Oracle licensing policy
• Sound knowledge of RAC architecture and ASM
• Overall capacity planning and drive performance benchmarking exercises
• Handle escalations for high impacting P1 incidents
• Plan patch management and ensure up to date inventory
• Advise developers on the most efficient database designs (tables, datatypes, stored procedures, functions, etc.)
