Role: Optometrist (On‑site) — Whitefield, Bangalore, India. Medico Hub is recruiting an experienced clinical optometrist to join our Whitefield clinic to deliver high‑quality eye examinations, diagnostics, and spectacle/contact lens services.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations including objective and subjective refraction, binocular vision assessment, and prescription generation.
- Operate diagnostic equipment—slit lamp, tonometer, OCT, fundus camera, autorefractor, and visual field perimeter—to detect anterior and posterior segment conditions.
- Fit and manage contact lenses, provide patient education on lens care, and counsel on spectacle lens options and coatings.
- Identify ocular pathology and co‑manage or refer to ophthalmologists when clinical escalation is required; follow referral protocols.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in EMR, record test results, update patient follow‑ups, and manage inventory for frames and lenses.
- Participate in community vision screenings, in‑clinic promotional activities, and support optical dispensing to ensure excellent patient experience and sales conversion.
Skills & Qualifications
Must‑Have
- Bachelor's degree/diploma in Optometry or equivalent and valid clinical registration (if applicable).
- Proven clinical experience performing refraction and comprehensive eye exams in a retail or clinical setting.
- Hands‑on proficiency with slit lamp biomicroscopy, tonometry, OCT, fundus photography, and visual field testing.
- Demonstrated experience in contact lens fitting and spectacle dispensing workflows.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Patient‑centred consultation skills with ability to explain diagnoses and treatment options clearly.
Preferred
- Experience in myopia management programs and orthokeratology.
- Exposure to retail optical sales, frame styling, and lens inventory management.
- Training or certification in advanced diagnostic imaging interpretation.
