Job summary

Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital is seeking an ophthalmic assistant to perform a wide range of eye examinations including refractive assessments, IOP measurement, patient history, and refraction studies.

The role covers cataract, glaucoma, orthoptics, posterior segment and cornea evaluations, with emphasis on accurate documentation and team handovers across departments.

Responsibilities

• Check refractive power using Auto Refractometer.
• Measure intraocular pressure with a Tonometer.
• Take patient history and document findings.
• Check subjective refraction and retinoscopy.
• Screen for color vision deficiencies.
• Evaluate EOM and pupil reaction.
• Fit and dispense contact lenses.
• Conduct Cataract investigations (A/B scan, IOL Master, keratometry, syringing, specular microscopy).
• Perform Glaucoma investigations (Autoperimetry, OCT).
• Carry out Orthoptics workup (squint tests, Hess chart, diplopia chart).
• Assess posterior segment with fundus imaging and OCT/B-scan, pachymetry.
• Evaluate cornea (Zyoptix, aberrations, Orbscan/aberrometry, anterior segment OCT, Schirmer test).
• Hand over case sheets to the next department.

• Autoperimetry, OCT
• Orthoptics Investigation:
• Squint Workup, Synaptophore, Hess-Charting, Diplopia Charting and Retinoscopy.
• Posterior Segment Evaluation:
• Fundus Fluorecin Angiography, Posterior Optical Coherence Tomography, B Scan, Pachymetry.
• Cornea Evaluation:
• Zyoptix Workup, Aberropia Workup, Orbscan, Aberrometry and Anterior Segment OCT, Contrast Sensitivity, W4DT (Worth 4 Dot Test), Schirmer test for Dry Eye.
• Handing over the case sheets to next department.
