Job summary

Planodrives Pte. Ltd. in India is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control Engineer for water and process plants. You will lead installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems across PLC/SCADA/DCS environments.

The role requires strong field instrumentation skills, reading P&IDs, loop diagrams, and electrical drawings, plus hands-on experience with sensors, transmitters, valves, and safety standards. On-site shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in instrumentation or related engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years in instrumentation and control in water treatment or process industry plants.
• Hands-on experience reading P&IDs, loop diagrams and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation, operation, maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems.
• Maintain field instruments: flow meters, level, pressure and temperature transmitters, pH, ORP, conductivity, turbidity, DO and chlorine analyzers.
• Maintain control valves, actuated valves, dosing pump controllers, VFDs and motor control systems.
• Support PLC, SCADA and DCS systems: logic checks, alarms and interlocks, HMI updates, data logging and backups.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance and calibration programs; maintain calibration records.
• Troubleshoot faults, perform root cause analysis (RCA) and propose CAPA.
• Support membrane (UF, RO), advanced oxidation, biological and sludge units with instrumentation and control tuning.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors for repairs, upgrades, shutdowns and spares.
• Prepare P&IDs, loop diagrams, instrument data sheets, SOPs and maintenance records.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, PTW, electrical safety and hazardous area requirements.
• Participate in RA, MSJSA, MOC reviews, government inspections and customer audits.

• Prepare P&IDs, loop diagrams, instrument data sheets, SOPs and maintenance records
• Ensure compliance with EHS, PTW, electrical safety and hazardous area requirements
• Participate in RA, MSJSA, MOC reviews, government inspections and customer audits

Desired profile of the candidate

• Minimum 5 years in instrumentation and control in water treatment, wastewater treatment or process industry plants
• Hands‑on experience with PLC, SCADA or DCS systems and field instrument calibration
• Able to read P&IDs, loop diagrams, electrical drawings and instrument datasheets
• Strong troubleshooting skills; able to work independently under abnormal plant conditions
• Familiar with PTW, RA, MOC and safety standards, including hazardous area (explosion‑proof) requirements
• Good communication skills
• Willing to work on-site, including shifts and emergency callouts
