Job summary

Astrobase Space Technologies in Bengaluru seeks a skilled CNC machinist to join our spacetech startup focused on cryogenic launch vehicle components. You will operate Fanuc/Siemens/Haas CNC lathes, read drawings, apply GD&T, and ensure tight tolerances on aerospace-grade materials.

You’ll collaborate with engineering and quality teams to optimize cycles, maintain AS9100/ISO 9001 compliance, and uphold rigorous metrology standards as we push India’s space capabilities forward.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITI in mechanical engineering or machining required.
• Certification as CNC operator (Fanuc/Siemens/Haas) preferred.
• Training in GD&T, metrology and quality systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• CNC turning operations on Fanuc/Siemens/Haas controls.
• Machining aerospace-grade materials (Ti, Inconel, stainless, Al alloys).
• G-code programming, offsets and tool compensation.
• Read drawings, apply GD&T and control surface finish.
• Use precision tools (micrometers, Vernier, bore gauges, height gauges, CMM).
• Drive process optimization and reduce cycle times.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 / ISO 9001 / NADCAP standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration.

Key Responsibilities

• CNC Turning Operations (Fanuc / Siemens / Haas controls)
• Aerospace-grade materials machining (Titanium, Inconel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum Alloys)
• G-code programming, offsets, and tool compensation
• Drawing reading, GD&T interpretation, and surface finish control
• Use of precision measurement tools (Micrometres, Vernier, Bore Gauges, Height Gauges, CMM)
• Process optimization and cycle time reduction
• Compliance with AS9100 / ISO 9001 / NADCAP standards
• Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and machine calibration
