Summary
The Operations Manager has complete responsibility for end‑to‑end FC operations in his or her function along with building level cost efficiencies at a Six sigma level, running regional/national key initiatives, ensuring quality and building health, and employee engagement and development across FC interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe work environment for all associates
- Lead and supervise a team of Area Managers, Team Leads, and associates in outbound operations
- Responsible for the overall safety, quality, productivity, and delivery performance of outbound operations
- Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; resolve problems; and address staffing needs
- Review work forecasts and determine productivity requirements to meet overall building objectives
- Ensure building health and inventory metrics with best‑in‑class quality metrics
- Ensure BM rates and OP2 throughput deliverables
- Interface with other OMs and adopt best practices cross‑functionally
- Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives
- Understand system interventions for order processing; communicate new process implementation and control measures to teams
- Lead ART (Annual Sale) events from capacity planning perspective; prepare Man, Material, Machine data
- Plan machine resources periodically and reduce capacity constraints with resource planning and finance teams
- Ensure best practices in people management; accountable for FC compliance, connections, and scorecards
- Manage people and team development
- Understand flex levers and adopt Amazon technicalities and ERP systems
- Create leaders and talent pipeline; demonstrate stakeholder and project management skills
- Interfacing cross‑functionally to promote best practices and initiatives
Qualifications
Preferably Engineer/MBA with 6‑10 years of experience.
Team
A team of Area Managers and Team Leads with 3+ years of employee and performance management experience, 2+ years of Amazon experience, flexible scheduling, and lean process improvement experience.
