Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Operations Manager responsible for budgetary, people development and operations objectives for a Fulfillment Center function. You will lead Area Managers, drive safety, quality, and productivity, and manage cross-functional projects and process improvements to meet building objectives.

Responsibilities include capacity planning, staffing, and implementing new processes while maintaining leadership bench strength and stakeholder management across the FC.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Area Managers and Team Leads, supported by PAs and Associates in Operations.
• Ensure safe work environment for all associates and team.
• Responsible for overall Safety, Quality, Productivity and Performance Delivery of the department operations.

DESCRIPTION

Operations Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives for one functional area of our Fulfillment Center (Inbound, Outbound, Change Ops). Additional responsibilities include managing and leading a team of Area Managers, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and building leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.

Key job responsibilities

• Ensure a safe work environment for all associates and team
• Lead and supervise a team of Area Manager's, TL's as Direct reportees supported by PAs and Associates in Operations
• Responsible for the overall Safety, Quality, Productivity and Performance Delivery of concerned department operations
• Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; resolve problems; and address staffing needs
• Review the work forecasts and determine productivity requirements to produce/deliver during the day to meet the overall building objectives.
• Ensure BM rates and OP2 throughput deliverables
• Interfacing well with other OM's. Taking up cross functional projects by the adoption of best practices
• Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives
• Learn and understand the system interventions for order processing. Apprise teams down the line of new process implementation and control measures required.
• Lead ART events from capacity planning perspective and prepare Man, Material, and Machine
• Carryout machine (resources) planning periodically and remove/reduce capacity constraints if any in coordination with Resource planning and Finance teams.
• Ensure best practices in people management and accountable for FC's compliance, Connections and scorecards.
• Manage People and team development
• Understand Flex levers , take up new Amazon technicalities associated with the role's requirements and Amazon ERP systems.
• Create leaders and talent pipeline. Good stake holder management and project management skills
