Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage product receipt, sorting, grading, packing and dispatch to meet demand and quality standards.
• Coordinate with growers, suppliers and logistics partners to ensure timely deliveries.
• Monitor freshness and storage conditions; perform quality checks and address issues.
• Maintain stock records, track expiry and investigate wastage and variances.
• Ensure packaging accuracy and timely dispatch across channels.

Job Overview

ICHIGO is seeking a hands-on, results-driven Operations Manager to oversee daily operations for its strawberry business. The role covers sourcing coordination, packaging, inventory, cold-chain logistics and order fulfilment, ensuring customers receive fresh, high-quality products on time. The ideal candidate will have experience managing perishable products, coordinating vendors and teams, controlling costs and reducing wastage.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Operations: Plan and manage product receipt, sorting, grading, packing and dispatch in line with demand and quality standards.
• Sourcing & Vendor Management: Coordinate with growers, suppliers, packaging vendors and logistics partners to ensure reliable supply and timely deliveries.
• Quality & Cold Chain: Monitor product freshness, handling, storage temperatures and transport conditions. Coordinate quality checks and resolve product issues.
• Inventory & Wastage Control: Maintain accurate stock records, batch traceability and expiry tracking. Follow first-expiry-first-out practices and investigate spoilage, damage and stock differences.
• Packaging & Order Fulfilment: Ensure packaging availability, correct labelling, packing accuracy and timely dispatch across retail, distributor and online channels.
• Cost & Budget Management: Track procurement, packaging, warehousing and delivery costs. Manage purchase orders, verify vendor invoices and identify savings without compromising quality.
• Sales & Marketing Coordination: Align stock availability and dispatch capacity with sales forecasts, promotions and seasonal demand.
• Team & Process Management: Supervise operational staff, establish clear procedures and train teams on hygiene, handling and safety.
• Reporting: Maintain operational dashboards covering fulfilment, inventory, wastage, quality issues and costs.

Candidate Qualifications

• Experience: 3-5 years in FMCG operations, with hands-on experience in fresh produce, food or other perishable products.
• Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Food Technology or a related field.
• Operational Knowledge: Experience in inventory management, vendor coordination, warehousing, cold-chain logistics and food safety practices.
• Technical Skills: Strong MS Excel skills for reporting and analysis. Experience with ERP or inventory management systems.
• Core Competencies: Team leadership, vendor negotiation, attention to detail and practical problem-solving in a fast-moving environment.
