About the Role

This is a core plant finance role — you'll be sitting at the plant, working closely with operations, and owning the numbers that drive manufacturing performance. From tracking hourly rates to building the factory P&L, you'll be the finance partner the plant relies on daily. If you've worked in a manufacturing setup and enjoy being close to the action, this is your kind of role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Factory P&L Ownership

  • Prepare and maintain the monthly Factory P&L for the Ambernath Annex — IS & Switchgear Factory
  • Track fixed vs. variable costs, analyse deviations, and flag margin risks early
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly cost closure

2. Hourly Rate Tracking & Analysis

  • Capture, compute, and monitor the plant hourly rate (cost per hour) on a monthly basis
  • Analyse movement in hourly rates — volume-driven vs. cost-driven variances
  • Present hourly rate trends and bridge analysis to plant leadership

3. Plant KPIs & Operational Excellence

  • Own and report key plant KPIs — Efficiency %, Productivity %, Earned Hours, Conversion Cost per Hour
  • Drive Plant Operational Excellence by partnering with operations to identify cost levers and track improvement actions
  • Prepare monthly plant performance scorecards

4. Productivity Savings

  • Track and validate productivity savings initiatives at the plant level
  • Maintain a savings tracker with clear project-wise breakdowns and YTD impact
  • Coordinate with operations and CI teams to quantify and sign off on realized savings

5. PDSL (Promise Date Service Level) Analysis

  • Analysis of PDSL Forecast v/s Actuals
  • Gaps in Understanding why PDSL was not met

6. Rate Contracts & Vendor Rate Management

  • Review and track rate contracts for key plant services (labour, maintenance, logistics, consumables)
  • Monitor vendor rates against benchmarks and flag deviations
  • Support procurement finance in rate negotiations with cost data and spend analytics

7. Headcount Analysis — Hired vs. Required

  • Maintain and report monthly Headcount Hired vs. Headcount Required for the plant (permanent + contract)
  • Analyse manpower cost per unit and productivity per head
  • Flag over/under-staffing and support workforce planning with data

8. Budgeting, Forecasting & MIS

  • Support annual budgets and periodic rolling forecasts (4+8, 8+4) for plant costs
  • Prepare plant-level MIS and flash reports
  • Build bridge analysis — Actuals vs. Budget vs. Prior Year

9. Oracle ERP Operations

  • Handle day-to-day plant accounting transactions in Oracle — JVs, cost uploads, accruals, reconciliations
  • Ensure correct cost centre and account mapping
  • Generate reports and extracts from Oracle for analysis

10. Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure all plant accounting is in line with applicable Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Support internal/external audits with plant-level documentation
  • Maintain strong internal controls over plant financial processes
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications
  • Qualification: CMA (ICMAI) — Qualified
  • Experience: 3–4 years in a manufacturing plant finance / plant controlling role
  • Accounting Standards: Well-versed with Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Industry: Core manufacturing (mandatory) — preferably heavy engineering, electrical, or process industry
