Job summary

RMSI is seeking an experienced Operation Lead to drive GIS-related and Annotation & Labeling projects end-to-end. You will oversee project planning, resource allocation, budgets, and quality, while fostering a collaborative GIS team and coordinating with cross-functional units to integrate GIS data with enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• A master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
• 18+ years of experience with last 10 years in operation management.
• Experience in Annotation and Labeling & L/ GIS/ Engineering Services, or related services.
• Strong customer relationship management skills at mid to executive levels.
• PMP / PRINCE2 certification.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

As an operation lead, the person will lead and manage GIS-related and Annotation & Labelling projects from initiation to completion, including project planning, resource allocation, budget management, and quality control.

• Foster a collaborative work environment within the GIS team, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS data with other enterprise systems.
• Identify and implement new GIS technologies and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborate across the business to relentlessly deliver solutions that will serve evolving customer needs and drive an exceptional customer service culture.
• Lead a resilient and agile team having diverse workforce to drive an inclusive culture to deliver strategic initiatives and create a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Interact with international clients, understand client requirements & provide solution accordingly.
• Understand Client feedback, requirements and liaison with Internal Project teams to ensure deliveries as per Client expectations
• Coordinate and attend Leadership team meetings, events and conferences, including, but not limited to developing agendas, identifying information needed, producing papers as requested, following up on actions items, and improving the quality of submissions.
• Provide mentorship and training to team members on GIS best practices and new technologies.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with business needs.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in engineering. A master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.

• Overall 18+ years of experience with last 10 years of relevant experience into operation management, preferably in Annotation and Labeling & L/ GIS/ Engineering Services, or other related services and solutions
• Strong industry connects within the GIS and tech sectors. Deep understanding of overall Utility and Mapping ecosystem, client dynamics and competitive landscape.
• Possess strong customer relationship management skills at mid to executive levels
• Have work experience with some of the top Tier-1 GIS & Engineering Services customers specialized in GIS/Utility/Location Mapping.
• PMP / PRINCE2 Project Management certification
• Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2, or similar certifications are required.
• Technical skills: Strong understanding of project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, etc.).
