Job summary

AMARDEEP AGGREGATES in Gujarat seeks an experienced Plant Operations Manager to lead Crusher and M-Sand operations, drive production schedules, ensure safety and quality, and push digitization with IoT. You will manage maintenance, cost optimization, and team development across shifts while coordinating with procurement and sales to meet targets.

Hands-on experience with Air Classifier & Wet Sand Plants (CDE or similar).

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Leadership and team handling.

Responsibilities

Take complete ownership of Crusher Plant & M-Sand Plant operations.
Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets (in tons).
Plan and execute production schedules aligned with sales demand.
Monitor machinery performance (Jaw, Cone, VSI, Screens, Air Classifier, Wet Plant).
Ensure strict safety protocols across plant operations.
Implement SOPs, checklists, and structured reporting systems.
Track KPIs: production, downtime, quality, dispatch TAT.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

A. Overall Plant Operations

Take complete ownership of Crusher Plant & M-Sand Plant operations.
Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets (in tons).
Optimize plant capacity utilization and minimize downtime.
Manage full flow from mines to finished goods dispatch.

B. Production Management

Plan and execute production schedules aligned with sales demand.
Monitor machinery performance (Jaw, Cone, VSI, Screens, Air Classifier, Wet Plant).
Ensure correct product mix (20mm, 10mm, GSB, M-Sand variants).
Improve yield and recovery % (coarse aggregates and sand).

C. Maintenance & Equipment Management

Ensure strong preventive and breakdown maintenance systems.
Reduce unplanned downtime through structured planning.
Monitor spares consumption and equipment lifecycle.
Coordinate with OEMs/vendors for upgrades and efficiency improvements.

D. Quality Control

Maintain consistent product quality and gradation standards.
Reduce variation in M-Sand quality through process control.
Eliminate customer complaints through root cause analysis.
Implement strict quality SOPs and testing systems.

E. Dispatch & Coordination

Ensure seamless coordination with dispatch for vehicle movement.
Achieve minimum Turnaround Time (TAT) for loading operations.
Align production planning with dispatch schedules.
Improve loading efficiency and reduce idle time.

F. Cost Optimization

Control cost per ton (power, manpower, maintenance, diesel).
Identify cost-saving opportunities across operations.
Reduce wastage and improve material recovery.
Drive efficiency improvements impacting overall profitability.

G. Team Management

Lead supervisors, operators, and plant workforce.
Ensure manpower availability across shifts.
Build disciplined, accountable, and performance-driven teams.
Conduct regular training and skill development.

H. Safety & Compliance

Ensure strict safety protocols across plant operations.
Conduct regular safety audits and training.
Maintain compliance with statutory and environmental norms.

I. Systems, Automation & Reporting

Implement SOPs, checklists, and structured reporting systems.
Track KPIs: production, downtime, quality, dispatch TAT.
Submit daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
Drive digitization and data-based decision making.

J. Plant Development & Expansion Projects

Lead and execute new plant development projects (e.g., new hopper installation, layout optimization, additional screening lines, etc.).
Coordinate with design, vendors, and internal teams for project execution.
Ensure timely completion within budget and desired output capacity.
Identify infrastructure gaps and proactively propose expansion or modification projects.
Drive continuous improvement in plant layout for higher efficiency and scalability.

K. IoT & Automation Implementation

Identify and implement latest IoT-based solutions for plant monitoring and automation.
Integrate real-time data systems for production tracking, machine performance, and downtime analysis.
Implement sensor-based monitoring for predictive maintenance.
Work towards a semi/fully automated plant environment.
Collaborate with tech vendors to digitize plant operations and dashboards.

L. Finished Goods Procurement & Supply Management

Ensure uninterrupted product availability to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable quarry partners for procurement of quality finished products.
Plan procurement quantities based on production capacity, sales forecasts, inventory levels, and customer commitments.
Negotiate commercial terms, monitor supplier performance, and optimize procurement costs while maintaining quality standards.
Coordinate closely with Sales, Dispatch, and Production teams to balance in-house production with external procurement.
Ensure procured materials meet the company's quality specifications before dispatch to customers.
Develop contingency sourcing plans to mitigate production disruptions and ensure continuous market supply.
Monitor procurement costs, supplier performance and profitability to maximize overall business margins.
