Job summary

Persistent Systems is seeking a highly skilled OpenStack Engineer to manage, deploy, and optimize enterprise-grade OpenStack cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with TripleO-based deployments, Linux infrastructure administration, and cloud automation. You will work on large-scale cloud platforms ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability across compute, storage, and networking.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Linux and infrastructure engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on OpenStack administration experience.
• Strong expertise in TripleO-based OpenStack deployments and lifecycle management.
• Deep understanding of RHOSP, OpenStack architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with KVM virtualization, Ceph storage, and enterprise networking concepts.
• Proficiency in Ansible, Python, and shell scripting for cloud automation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in production OpenStack environments.
• Excellent documentation, collaboration, and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, upgrade, and manage large-scale OpenStack environments using TripleO.
• Perform OpenStack installation, patching, lifecycle management, and platform expansion activities.
• Administer core OpenStack services including Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, Glance, Heat, and Octavia.
• Execute under cloud and overcloud deployments, control plane upgrades, and platform migrations.
• Manage Linux-based cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and networking components.
• Automate deployment and operational activities using Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across compute, networking, and storage layers.
• Drive performance optimization, capacity planning, operational excellence, and platform reliability.

• Deep understanding of RHOSP, OpenStack Architecture, and Cloud Infrastructure.
• Experience with KVM Virtualization, Ceph Storage, and enterprise networking concepts.
• Proficiency in Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting for cloud automation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in production OpenStack environments.
• Excellent documentation, collaboration, and stakeholder communication skills.
