Job summary

DP World in Tamil Nadu is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment, read drawings, and keep records. You will work with production teams to minimize downtime and follow safety procedures to ensure reliable operations.

You will coordinate repairs, replace worn parts, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, emphasizing teamwork and quality in every task.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and maintenance practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and manuals.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic Scan tool knowledge.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, damage, or potential failures.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults in a timely manner.
• Install, assemble, and commission mechanical equipment as required.
• Replace defective parts such as bearings, seals, belts, couplings, valves, pumps, and gearboxes.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
• Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
• Coordinate with production and other departments to minimize equipment downtime.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
