Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Service Engineer to manage warranty and maintenance activities at customer sites in India. You will support commissioning and field operations on train and locomotive systems, perform retrofit and overhaul tasks, and coordinate with Engineering & Quality teams to resolve issues. Strong English/Hindi communication, analytical skills, and IT proficiency are essential.

Frequent travel is expected. Location: Andhra Pradesh, with responsibilities across customer sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, electrical or electronics is required.
• Strong communication in English and Hindi or regional language.
• Excellent analytical and presentation skills.
• IT literacy and proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute warranty/maintenance activities at customer sites.
• Support commissioning and field operations for products and systems on locomotives.
• Carry out retrofit, overhaul, and scheduled maintenance to meet FT objectives.
• Assist Engineering & Quality teams with problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Ensure availability of tools and spares; manage site inventory efficiently.

Job description

Planning and Implementation of all theretrofits/maintenance& overhauling of products at Customer site

Secure product performances by monitoring and implementing the containment actions, troubleshooting etc .

Having regular meeting with customer for the product performance and getting it sign-off on periodic basis as per the contractual requirements

Improve Customer response time

Cost Effectiveness by improving efficiency during warranty intervention, preventive and corrective maintenance, overhauling.

Main responsibilities:

Deliver warranty services from delivery of the product to the end of warranty period

Support during the commissioning of the Product/System on train and Locomotive

Execute all Field scheduled operations (retrofit, overhaul, maintenance etc.) in order to meet FT objectives and Customer requirements

Provide support to Engineering & Quality team for effective problem solving

Ensure availability and use of special tools for Warranty & Customer support

Ensure availability of Spares for 0km and Warranty service and efficiently manage site inventory required for maintenance and overhaul

Ensure feedback of field experience at all stages to improve reliability of the products

Challenge Customer’s claim and establish authenticity of customer warranty claim

Responsible of EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) organization & deployment

Participate actively in QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control) process & Failure Reporting Analysis & Corrective Action System (FRACAS)

Periodic reporting of the open points of Customer and follow ups till the action is closed

Qualification :Should have good academic background in mechanical orelectrical/electronics.Qualification should be Degree

Experience:Should have the minimum experience of 4-6 years of working as Service engineer

Competence

Should have very good communication skill in English and Hindi/Regional language

Strong analytical skills ,Flexible attitude to work in changing environment , Presentation skills ,

Should have good technical understanding of electrical and pneumatic circuits. Relevant rolling stock experience is preferable

IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft office applications

Ready to travel frequently , Customer oriented
