Job summary

Maersk in Pune, India seeks an experienced Accounts Payable professional to manage vendor invoices, ensure accuracy, and support timely payments across global operations.

You will collaborate with procurement, finance, and operations, maintain records, prepare reconciliations, and uphold internal controls. The role requires ERP experience and advanced Excel skills, with opportunities for growth in a diverse, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, GL or a similar finance role.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and tax regulations.
• Coordinate with support, procurement and business teams for invoice approvals and discrepancies.
• Act as the first point of contact for internal teams related to payments and invoices.
• Resolve issues efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth payment cycles.
• Maintain effective communication with vendors and service providers.
• Compile and maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
• Assist in preparing periodic reports and reconciliations for audits and internal reviews.
• Adhere to internal controls and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Invoice Processing:
  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and tax regulations.

• Query Handling:
  • Act as the first point of contact for internal teams in related to payments and invoices.
  • Resolve issues efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Support Functions, Procurement, Operations, HR, Business Functions) to ensure smooth payment cycles.
  • Maintain effective communication with vendors and service providers.
• Data Compilation & Reporting:
  • Compile and maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
  • Assist in preparing periodic reports and reconciliations for audits and internal reviews.
• Compliance & Controls:
  • Adhere to internal controls and audit requirements.
  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Optional - CA (Inter) or CMA (Inter)
