OCI Architect Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled OCI Architect with strong Database Administration expertise who can lead cloud transformation initiatives, support presales activities (RFP/RFI), and execute Oracle E‑Business Suite (EBS) lift‑and‑shift migrations from on‑premise to OCI. The role requires a blend of technical depth, solution design, and client‑facing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. OCI Architecture & Cloud Strategy
   • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high‑performance solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
   • Define cloud architecture including VCN, subnets, DR strategies, compute, storage, load balancers, and Identity & Access Management (IAM).
   • Establish best practices for cost optimization, governance, and security.
   • Lead cloud adoption strategies and roadmap planning.
2. Oracle Database Administration
   • Manage and administer Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c/21c) across environments.
   • Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades.
   • Conduct performance tuning and query optimization.
   • Handle backup & recovery (RMAN, Data Guard).
   • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery setups.
   • Monitor database health, capacity planning, and security compliance.
3. Oracle EBS Lift & Shift to OCI
   • Lead end‑to‑end migration of Oracle EBS from on‑premise to OCI.
   • Assess existing infrastructure and define migration strategies.
   • Execute lift‑and‑shift (rehost) migrations and redesign EBS architecture for OCI.
   • Develop downtime minimization strategies.
   • Configure OCI services for EBS: compute, block storage, object storage, load balancer, and file storage.
   • Validate post‑migration performance and stability.
4. Presales & RFP/RFI Support
   • Analyze RFP/RFI requirements and design tailored OCI solutions.
   • Prepare solution architecture documents, effort estimation, and pricing inputs.
   • Develop technical proposals and presentations.
   • Participate in client discussions, demos, and solution walkthroughs.
   • Collaborate with sales teams to drive deal closures.
5. Automation & DevOps (Good to Have)
   • Develop automation scripts using Shell, Python, or Terraform.
   • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for OCI deployments.
   • Support CI/CD pipelines for database and application deployments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Deep knowledge of Oracle Database Administration.
• Experience with Oracle EBS architecture and migrations.
• Hands‑on with RMAN, Data Guard, GoldenGate (preferred).
• Understanding of networking concepts (VPN, FastConnect, DNS).
• Working with performance tuning tools.
