Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Provide OT intervention for ASD, ADHD, CP, GDD, sensory processing difficulties and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Work on fine motor, gross motor, hand function, coordination, and visual-motor integration.
  • Address sensory processing and sensory regulation, attention, and task engagement.
  • Plan for pre-writing, handwriting, pencil control, and school readiness activities.
  • Train children in ADLs and functional independence.
  • Provide sensory integration activities based on clinical needs.
  • Maintain daily session notes, assessment records, and progress reports.
  • Monitor progress and adjust intervention goals as needed.
  • Offer parent counselling, home programs, and caregiver guidance.

Job description

Role & Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive paediatric occupational therapy assessments and identify developmental, sensory, motor, and functional needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on the child's developmental profile and clinical goals.
  • Provide occupational therapy intervention for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Cerebral Palsy (CP), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), sensory processing difficulties, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Work on fine motor skills, gross motor skills, hand function, bilateral coordination, visual-motor integration, motor planning, and coordination.
  • Address sensory processing and sensory regulation, attention, sitting tolerance, body awareness, and task engagement.
  • Work on pre-writing, handwriting, pencil control, classroom readiness, and school-related functional skills.
  • Train children in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and age-appropriate functional independence.
  • Plan and implement appropriate sensory integration activities based on individual clinical requirements.
  • Maintain accurate daily session notes, assessment records, progress reports, and clinical documentation.
  • Monitor progress and modify intervention goals and strategies based on the child's response to therapy.
  • Provide parent counselling, home programs, and caregiver guidance to support skill carryover at home.
  • Collaborate with Speech Therapists, Behaviour Therapists, Special Educators, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, and other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in case discussions, team meetings, parent meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Maintain professional ethics, confidentiality, punctuality, and compliance with the centre's clinical and administrative policies.

Preferred Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) or Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) from a recognized institution.
  • Candidates with paediatric occupational therapy experience will be preferred.
  • Experience working with children with Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delays, and Sensory Processing Difficulties is preferred.
  • Good understanding of sensory integration, developmental milestones, fine motor development, gross motor skills, ADLs, and functional independence.
  • Strong clinical observation, assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Freshers with strong clinical knowledge and a genuine interest in paediatric occupational therapy may also apply.
  • Candidates who can communicate effectively in English and Telugu/Hindi will be preferred.
