Job description

Position: Occupational Therapist (Full-time)

(for Children & Adults with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities)

Reporting to: Program Manager

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) based out of Delhi, specializing in Autism and other Developmental Disabilities, who works with children and young adults to enhance their ability to perform daily tasks, develop social and academic skills, and improve overall independence. The OT will evaluate sensory, motor, and cognitive challenges and implement personalized therapy plans to address communication, self-regulation,

and life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and deliver individualized occupational therapy interventions for children and young adults with Autism and other developmental disabilities, focusing on functional independence, participation, and quality of life.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of sensory processing, motor coordination, cognitive abilities, and daily living skills.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Developmental Plans (IDPs) addressing sensory integration, fine and gross motor skills, emotional regulation, self-care, communication, attention, and social participation.
  • Use evidence-based therapeutic techniques, adaptive strategies, and purposeful activities to enhance functional abilities across home, school, and community environments.
  • Utilize assistive technology and adaptive equipment to support learning, mobility, and independence.
  • Collaborate closely with special educators, speech therapists, physiotherapists, teachers, and programme teams to ensure integrated and goal-oriented intervention.
  • Work in partnership with parents and caregivers to understand the child’s needs, provide training, and support carryover of therapeutic strategies at home.
  • Educate parents, caregivers, and teachers on sensory regulation, behavioural support strategies, injury prevention, and daily living adaptations.
  • Participate in community outreach and home-based visits to identify children and young adults in need of services and provide therapy support in natural environments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including assessment reports, progress notes, and treatment plans, and submit regular reports as per supervisory guidelines.
  • Monitor student progress continuously, review outcomes, and modify intervention plans as required.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, government regulations, and ethical standards while maintaining high-quality student care.
  • Stay updated with current research, best practices, and advancements in occupational therapy to support effective and ethical service delivery.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
