Job summary

Sulzer is seeking an NXOpen engineer for development of NX Tools applications within the Engineering Tools Group in Navi Mumbai. The role focuses on creating and enhancing NX Open-based software to generate 3D models and 2D drawings, following a defined development framework.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background with strong C# software skills, experience with NXOpen, CAD tools, and a collaborative approach to cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• 3 years of NXOpen development with C#.
• Experience with 3D/2D CAD and surface modelling.
• Good English (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Programs new and extends existing software in C#.NET for generation of 3D models and 2D drawings on the NX Open Interface and follows an existing programming concept.
• Analyses and debugs program errors up to final solution.
• Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, code comments and clear code.
• Updates job knowledge by studying NX related 3D development tools and programming techniques.
• Maintains software by studying user needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
• Development follows the software development lifecycle.

Job Summary

The Product Development Engineer is responsible for improving or developing new products, components, equipment, systems, technologies, or processes. This role ensures that research and design methodologies meet scientific and engineering standards and supports the organization in achieving technical, functional, and cost targets. This job profile is intended for early-career professionals who apply broad theoretical knowledge and require the ability to investigate and analyze problems. Solutions are typically discussed/verified with a more senior member.

Purpose of the job

The Engineering Tools Group has the responsibility to provide the global engineering departments with software solutions supporting engineering processes. To complete our team, we are looking for a motivated and committed NXOpen engineer for development of NX Tools applications.

Main tasks and responsibilities

1. Programs new and extends existing software in C#.net for generation of 3D models and 2D drawings on the NX Open Interface and follows an existing programming concept.
2. Analyses and debugs program errors up to final solution.
3. Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, code comments and clear code.
4. Updates job knowledge by studying NX related 3D development tools and programming techniques.
5. Maintains software by studying user needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
6. Development follows the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Required

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with a flair for software development
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in mechanical engineering
• 3 years of experience in developing NXOpen applications using C#
• Experience in software design, programming, debugging, documentation and testing
• Exposure to Agile software development methodology and Azure DevOps is beneficial.
• Experience with 3D and 2D parametric CAD and expression handling
• Minimum 2 years of experience in surface modelling.
• Information analysis, structured problem solving, efficient communication and teamwork.
• Good English skills (written and verbal) required.
• Experience in Turbo Machinery Engineering or willingness to develop in this domain
