Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a Synthesis Engineer/Lead to drive RTL-to-GDS synthesis and timing closure for NPU-based AI accelerators in next‑gen SoCs. You will collaborate with Architecture, RTL, STA, DFT, and Physical Design teams to ensure quality, power-efficient silicon on advanced nodes.

The role requires strong ASIC flow knowledge, hands-on experience with Design Composer/Cadence tools, and scripting for flow automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/ Electronics/ Computer Engineering with relevant hardware experience.
• Experience in RTL-to-GDS synthesis, timing closure, and constraint development.
• Proficient in TCL and scripting (Python/Perl) for flow automation.

Responsibilities

• Own RTL-to-gate synthesis and timing closure for NPU IPs and subsystems.
• Develop and maintain synthesis flows, constraints, and automation for complex hierarchical designs.
• Drive pre-layout and post-layout timing closure across modes and corners.
• Optimize designs for PPA targets using physical-aware methods.
• Create and validate timing constraints (SDC), clock definitions, false paths, and multi-cycle paths.
• Collaborate with RTL, DFT, STA, and Physical Design teams to resolve QoR, timing, and convergence issues.
• Perform LEC, CDC, lint, and low-power verification; analyze synthesis QoR via scripting.
• Support tapeout activities and drive continuous improvements in synthesis methodologies.
