Job summary

Weekday 1 is seeking a skilled backend engineer to design, develop, and sustain backend services using Node.js and frameworks like Express, NestJS, or Fastify. You will collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps to deliver secure, scalable APIs and services.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and ES6+.
• Experience with backend frameworks such as Express.js, NestJS, or Fastify.
• Proficient in designing RESTful APIs and GraphQL services.
• Practical knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Git, code reviews, and Agile development.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and related frameworks. You will collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver APIs and services that are performant, secure, and easy to evolve. The position offers exposure to cloud-native architectures, modern DevOps practices, and real-world scalability challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and frameworks such as Express, Fastify, or NestJS.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, event loops, Promises, and async/await.
• Experience working with backend frameworks such as Express.js, NestJS, or Fastify.
• Practical knowledge of databases, including SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis).
