Job summary

Weekday AI is seeking a skilled backend engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable services using Node.js and modern frameworks. You will collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver performant, secure APIs and services in a cloud-enabled, agile environment.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with Node.js, ES6+, REST/GraphQL, and databases (SQL/NoSQL).

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Experience with Express.js, NestJS, or Fastify.
• Practical knowledge of databases including SQL and NoSQL.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs or GraphQL services.
• Understanding of performance optimization and backend security.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and frameworks such as Express, Fastify, or NestJS.
• Design and implement RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs to support web and mobile applications.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and related frameworks. What Makes You a Great Fit

• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, event loops, Promises, and async/await.


• Experience working with backend frameworks such as Express.js, NestJS, or Fastify.


• Practical knowledge of databases, including SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis).


• Familiarity with building and consuming RESTful APIs or GraphQL services.
