Job summary

Lightrains Technolabs is seeking a senior Node.js developer to build and maintain backend services powering our products. You will design APIs, model data, optimize query performance, and collaborate with front‑end teams to ship reliable features.

Responsibilities include designing RESTful and GraphQL APIs, defining API contracts, and ensuring code quality through testing and reviews. You’ll work with Express/Fastify/Hapi, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis to deliver robust backend solutions.

Qualifications

• Production‑quality backend development experience.
• Strong Node.js fundamentals and asynchronous patterns.
• Clear written and spoken English for cross‑functional teams.

We are looking for a senior Node.js developer to build and maintain the backend services powering our products. You will design APIs, model data, optimize query performance, and collaborate with front-end teams to ship reliable features.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs
• Define API contracts, request validation, and error handling patterns
• Model relational and document database schemas
• Communicate breaking changes and coordinate with consuming teams
• Maintain code quality through testing, linting, and code review
• Optimize services for performance, reliability, and cost

Skills and Qualifications

• Hands‑on individual contributor focused on delivering production‑quality code
• Write modular, well‑tested backend services
• Strong understanding of Node.js async patterns, event loop, and memory management
• Experience with Express, Fastify, Hapi, or similar Node.js frameworks
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis
• Familiarity with message queues (Bull, RabbitMQ, or Kafka)
• Follow coding standards, participate in code reviews, and mentor junior developers
• Work closely with product and design teams throughout the SDLC
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English
