Job summary
A manufacturing firm located in Pune, India, is seeking a Draftsman or Junior Engineer with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Job description
Understand machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling, and grinding to define correct manufacturing sequences.
Prepare operation-wise process plans, routings, process drawings, and setup drawings.
Define datums, stock allowance, surface finish requirements, and consider heat treatment and special processes.
Apply fixture-first thinking and coordinate with tooling/fixture suppliers as required.
Build quality into the process by identifying critical dimensions and defining in-process and final inspections.
Use CAD tools for 2D drafting and accurate interpretation of 3D models with proper revision control.
Incorporate shop-floor feedback, analyze rework, and continuously improve process plans.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Tooling, and Design teams.
Support audits, reviews, and customer requirements related to process documentation.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Draftsman or Junior Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault (mandatory).
