Must Have:

• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VPNs
• Hands‑on experience with firewall technologies such as Cisco ASA, Fortinet (FortiGate), Palo Alto, and Sophos Firewalls
• Experience with proxy servers and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
• Solid understanding of core security concepts, including access control, authentication, encryption, and vulnerability management

Role & responsibilities:

• Manage and update firewall rule bases, including system/group definitions and authentication configurations at user, client, and session levels
• Administer firewall security policies, including system backups, alerts, monitoring, and logging functions
• Configure and maintain security policies for network infrastructure following proper change management processes
• Perform security policy rule administration and maintain regular configuration backups
• Proactively update and manage security device signatures
• Ensure log rotation, monitoring, and housekeeping of security device logs while maintaining optimal disk space utilization
• Design and implement proper network zoning architecture, with periodic review of security policies
• Configure and manage IPSEC VPNs (site-to-site and remote access)
• Perform network device hardening, configuration backup, and ongoing device management
• Handle log management and security monitoring activities
• Detect and mitigate WLAN attacks and perform WLAN configuration optimization
• Monitor and manage network configurations such as IP addressing, subnet masks, DNS settings, and IPSLA, ensuring adherence to change management processes
• Monitor existing IOS versions and installed patches; plan and execute IOS upgrades after validation in staging/incubation environments before production rollout
