Job summary

Tekion in Bengaluru is seeking a Network Engineer to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance and availability issues across enterprise and cloud environments. You will configure routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other devices, and support the design of new network solutions under senior guidance.

The candidate should hold a CS/IT degree, 5–7 years of experience, strong TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, and MPLS knowledge, plus hands‑on work with Cisco/Juniper/Palo Alto devices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 59 years of experience in network engineering, network operations, or related IT roles.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, VPNs).
  • Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting network security practices and compliance requirements.
  • Scripting/automation knowledge (Python, Ansible, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network performance and availability issues across enterprise and cloud environments.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other network devices.
  • Support the design and implementation of new network solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Perform root cause analysis of network incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Contribute to incident response and participate in on-call rotations for escalations.
  • Document configurations, network diagrams, and incident resolutions to maintain operational knowledge.
  • Collaborate with Security and Infrastructure teams to enforce policies and ensure compliance.
  • Assist in capacity planning, monitoring enhancements, and network automation efforts. Provide mentorship and technical support to junior engineers.
