Job summary

Buxton Consulting in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Network Engineer with 7+ years of experience to design, implement, and optimize complex enterprise networks across on-prem and cloud environments.

You will work with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet devices, and cloud networking (AWS, Azure) while applying zero-trust and SD-WAN principles, with automation in Python/Bash/PowerShell.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure operations.
• Deep expertise in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and subnetting.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, and Fortinet devices.
• Proficiency in cloud networking (AWS and Azure), including VPCs, Transit Gateways, Direct Connect, and VPNs, VNets, and Express Routes.
• Familiarity with SD-WAN, network segmentation, and zero-trust architectures.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Datadog, Prometheus) and logging frameworks (e.g., ELK).
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, SOC 2).

Responsibilities

• Manage network engineering and infrastructure operations.
• Design and implement TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and subnetting solutions.
• Configure and troubleshoot devices from Cisco, Palo Alto, and Fortinet.
• Implement cloud networking in AWS and Azure (VPCs, Transit Gateways, Direct Connect, VPNs, VNets, ExpressRoutes).
• Enforce SD-WAN, network segmentation, and zero-trust architectures.
• Develop automation scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Monitor networks with SolarWinds, Datadog, and Prometheus; manage logs with ELK.
• Ensure security compliance (PCI DSS, SOC 2).
