Job summary

Supreme Solutions in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced network engineer to install, configure, and maintain Nokia 7750 SR and 7250 routers, ensuring reliable service and rapid incident response.

You will monitor router health, vendor coordination, perform upgrades and backups, configure routing (BGP/OSPF/IS-IS), MPLS/L3VPN, QoS, ACLs, and maintain network topology and docs.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Nokia Service Router Architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Nokia 7750 SR and 7250 platforms.
• Knowledge of Nokia SR OS.
• Good understanding of: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, L2/L3 VPN, VLAN, LAG/LACP. QoS, IP routing and switching
• Knowledge of Nokia EMS/NMS.
• Understanding of SDN architecture and controllers.
• Working knowledge of TACACS+/AAA.

Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Nokia 7750 SR and 7250 routers.
• Day-to-day monitoring of router health, interfaces, CPU, memory, alarms, and traffic utilization.
• Configure and troubleshoot: IP addressing and VLANs; static and dynamic routing; BGP, OSPF, IS-IS; MPLS and L3VPN; LAG/LACP; QoS and traffic policies; ACLs and service policies.
• Troubleshoot link flaps, interface errors, routing issues, packet loss, latency, and service-impacting faults.
• Perform configuration backup, restoration, software upgrades, and hardware replacement activities.
• Coordinate with Nokia TAC/vendor teams for critical hardware and software issues.
• Maintain network topology, configuration records, and operational documentation.
• Monitor and manage network elements through Nokia EMS; monitor alarms, events, faults, and performance parameters; fault identification, isolation, and escalation; device provisioning, configuration management, and performance monitoring.
• Maintain EMS-related operational records and reports; coordinate with vendor for EMS application, database, or connectivity-related issues.
• Maintain and monitor the TACACS+ authentication and authorization infrastructure; manage administrator authentication and authorization for network devices.
• Monitor the SuperCore network on a 247 basis; handle fault tickets and perform first/second-level troubleshooting; analyze alarms, logs, counters, and performance stats; identify root causes; escalate to Nokia TAC/vendor teams.

Role & responsibilities

Nokia Router 7750 & 7250

• Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Nokia 7750 SR and 7250 IXR/routers.
• Perform day-to-day monitoring of router health, interfaces, CPU, memory, alarms, and traffic utilization.

2. Nokia EMS

• Monitor and manage network elements through Nokia EMS.
• Monitor network alarms, events, faults, and performance parameters.
• Perform fault identification, isolation, and escalation through EMS.
• Support device provisioning, configuration management, and performance monitoring.
• Maintain EMS-related operational records and reports.
• Coordinate with the vendor for EMS application, database, or connectivity-related issues.

3. TACACS / AAA

• Maintain and monitor the TACACS+ authentication and authorization infrastructure.
• Manage administrator authentication and authorization for network devices.

4. Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Monitor the SuperCore network on a 247 basis, as required.
• Handle fault tickets and perform first-level/second-level troubleshooting.
• Analyze network alarms, logs, counters, and performance statistics.
• Identify the root cause of network incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Escalate complex issues to Nokia TAC/vendor teams and follow up until resolution.
• Maintain incident, problem, and change management records.

5. Mandatory Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Nokia Service Router Architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Nokia 7750 SR and 7250 platforms.
• Knowledge of Nokia SR OS.
• Good understanding of:

BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, L2/L3 VPN, VLAN, LAG/LACP. QoS, IP routing and switching

• Knowledge of Nokia EMS/NMS.
• Understanding of SDN architecture and controllers.
• Working knowledge of TACACS+/AAA.
• Experience with network traffic generators and network performance testing.
• Good troubleshooting and incident-management skills.
• Knowledge of network security and access-control practices.
• Ability to analyze logs, alarms, counters, and packet-level issues.
