SANMINA-SCI TECHNOLOGY INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking a Network Engineer 1 in Chennai to work on Level 2 support for the global network, applying standardized designs and best practices for deployment, and securing the network. The role involves collaboration with other teams, incident management, and continuous improvements for reliability.

The position requires 2–4 years of hands-on networking experience, knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, WiFi, SD-WAN, and strong English

Network Engineer 1

• Work independently and under senior engineer supervision on Level 2 support and escalations for the global network infrastructure.
• Apply standardized designs and best practices to design and deploy network engineering and network deployment projects.
• Work independently on securing and hardening the company’s network.
• Work with other teams on troubleshooting.
• Provide support and incident management for major outages.
• Proactively work on improving efficiency and reliability of the company’s network.
• Keep network drawings and SOX 404 documentation up-to-date.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of hands on experience in networking.
• Strong hands-on experience with multiple networking platforms
• Knowledge on routing, switching, firewall, VPN, WiFi, SDWAN etc.
• Good knowledge of securing and hardening networks and devices.
• Excellent network troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of application level network troubleshooting required.
• Knowledge of Checkpoint firewalls is prefered.
• Should be self-driven and capable of learning new areas by self.
• Should be a good English communicator (spoken and written).

Qualifications Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Science. Minimum experience 2 - 4 years in Network Administration and Engineering

NATURE OF WORK

Operates internal data communications systems, including LANs and WANs. Assists with planning, designing and implementing networked systems, including configurations, support/troubleshooting of network problems and coordinating with vendors for installation of such items as routers, firewalls, Wifi equipments and switches. Assists with or may be assigned to perform independent project implementation. May needed to provide training to company employees.

• A networking related professional certification, such as CCNA or similar, is desirable.
• Strong desire to learn, be mentored and grow professionally.
• 2 - 4 years of networking experience.
