Job summary

VMC Soft Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Networking professional for Threat and Vulnerability Management. The role drives upgrades of network devices using automation and manual methods, partners with security and operations to reduce risk, and enhances the organization’s security posture.

The candidate will monitor remediation progress, document fixes, and maintain knowledge of hardware/software. Onsite in Chennai and Bangalore with 6+ years of experience expected.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience supporting end-to-end network technologies such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 LTM/GTM load balancers, Arista and Cisco routers and switches.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux
• Advanced understanding of performance and monitoring
• Advanced troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or in groups
• Knowledge and experience with network automation such as Python, JSON, Ansible

Brief Description

Network Engineer 3 (Threat and Vulnerability Management) The successful candidate will work independently to upgrade network devices across a broad set of platforms using automated and manual processes. This role partners closely with network engineering, operations, security, and technology teams to reduce risk, maintain compliance with security standards, and improve the overall security posture of the organization.

Detailed Description

• Performs upgrades of network devices using automation or manual processes.
• Monitor and report on remediation progress, risk exposure, and overall vulnerability management effectiveness.
• Document and provide recommended fixes for any deficiencies in the current automation or manual upgrade processes.
• Maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology.
• Maintains documentation and updates the network and security infrastructure, tests and implements vendor security patches.
• Takes corrective actions when necessary following change control guidelines and policies.
• Resolves the most complex issues in the environment with little to no supervision, relying on his/her ability to pull together technical resources to gather accurate information to provide data driven solutions.

Basic Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience supporting end-to-end network technologies such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 LTM/GTM load balancers, Arista and Cisco routers and switches
• Experience with UNIX/Linux
• Advanced understanding of performance and monitoring
• Proficient in more than one specific infrastructure technology
• Advanced understanding of best practices and HNB policies
• Advanced troubleshooting skillsTechnical certifications such as Cisco CCNP-Enterprise or Datacenter, CCIE, Palo Alto PCCSA, PCNS, PCNSE, or F5
• Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) and ability to work both independently and in a group

• Experience in an enterprise environment and previous banking/financial industry experience is a plus
