Job summary

Flowserve India Controls Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a CNC Programmer to independently design, develop and validate CNC programs for metal cutting machine tools in Chennai. The role includes supporting the CNC programmer team and achieving individual metrics while maintaining on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate should have 4-7 years of CNC programming experience and a BE or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Proficiency in Esprit CAM software and good communication skills are essential.

Role Summary

Independently design, develop and validate CNC programs for a range of metal cutting machine tools. Accountable for CNC program safety, quality, on‑time delivery, and process efficiency. Be tasked with production support such as machine and process troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Support CNC programmer team.
• Gain technical knowledge as part of the work.
• Communicate with counterparts to roll out jobs.
• Control the handling of CNC programs in the server.
• Achieve individual metrics and support team’s target.
• Select appropriate tools and process for the given situation.
• Complete the timecard of the duties performed in a duly manner.
• Interact with engineering department to process jobs when required.
• Meet customer’s delivery date and maintain team’s on‑time delivery.
• Flexible in cross region programming by understanding regional differences.
• Embrace the CIP culture, refine routine tasks and facilitate more effective processes to improve deliverables.
• Create programs in CAM software (Esprit) by identifying, understanding drawing symbols, sections, detail views in component drawings.
• Utilize CAD/CAM and related computer technology to develop programs and tool path models.
• Flexible in cross machine programming by understanding programming differences.
• Make or offer suggestions on drawing changes to improve manufacturability.
• Read and follow written instructions or procedures.
• Proficient in creating, designing, editing, maintaining Microsoft Excel files.
• Perform individual responsibilities related to portfolios, committees and other areas apart from regular programming.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of experience in CNC programming.
• BE or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related education.
• Data analytical skills and engineering knowledge.

• Experience working with PC, able to troubleshoot basic requirements like mapping drives, access and navigation of different folders.
• Basic knowledge of shop floor practices.
• Ability to correct routes: PS0021, SD0800, SF0010, Times etc. in PRMS.
• Basic knowledge of programming; either lathe programs or drill programs.
• Proficiency in Esprit (CAM tool) environment added advantage.
• Read technical drawings/drawings of seals and parts.
• Understand imperial system (inches).
• Understand basics of programming like CNC machine, codes, various languages used.
• Identify GD&T symbols, define process and how it affects programming.
• Identify milling process involved in the part and possess matching knowledge.
• Experience handling Mazak integrex machines.
• Experience operating/programming 5-axis milling or mill‑turn machines preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/DraftSight environment added advantage.
