LetzBizz is seeking an experienced MSSQL DBA (Lead Engineer) with 10+ years of expertise for on‑prem and cloud environments in Chennai. The role focuses on performance tuning, security, HA/DR, and database optimization to support mission-critical applications.

The incumbent will install, configure, monitor, and maintain SQL Server instances, migrate to Azure SQL Database, automate tasks with PowerShell, and ensure robust backup/recovery plans while adhering to security standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of MSSQL DBA experience across on‑premises and cloud environments.
• Strong skills in performance tuning, backups, security, and HA/DR.
• Experience migrating databases to Azure SQL Database and managing large-scale systems.
• Proficient scripting with PowerShell and T-SQL for automation.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain MSSQL Server instances (2016/2019/2022).
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries and indexes.
• Migrate databases from on‑premises to Azure SQL Database.
• Implement and manage HA/DR solutions including Always Availability Groups and Log Shipping.
• Perform backups, recovery planning, and failover testing for business continuity.
• Enforce database security with access control, encryption, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with dev and infra teams.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and T‑SQL.
• Conduct upgrades, patches, and migrations as needed.
• Develop and maintain documentation for configurations and procedures.

We seek an experienced MS SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with over 10 years of expertise in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and high availability solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in managing large-scale databases, ensuring optimal performance, and supporting mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain MSSQL Server (2016/2019/2022) databases in on‑premises and cloud environments.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and configurations for improved efficiency.
• Migrate databases from on‑premises SQL Server to cloud environments (Azure SQL Database).
• Implement and manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, including Always Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Mirroring, and Replication.
• Perform regular database backups, recovery planning, and failover testing to ensure business continuity.
• Ensure database security by implementing user authentication, access controls, encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues, resolve system failures and collaborate with development and infrastructure teams.
• Automate routine database administration tasks using PowerShell, T‑SQL, or other scripting languages.
• Conduct database upgrades, patches, and migrations as needed.
