Job summary

Capgemini is seeking an experienced SQL Server Administrator to manage installation, configuration, and upgrades of SQL Server instances across environments. You will handle backups, security, jobs, and 24x7 production support while collaborating with development and support teams to meet client SLAs.

The role emphasizes automation, monitoring, and high availability solutions, including Always On and DR strategies, with exposure to Azure SQL and cloud migration projects.

Qualifications

• Senior DBA skills in SQL Server administration and maintenance.
• Experience with backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Strong monitoring and performance tuning capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances (2008 R2 to 2016).
• Manage databases, security, logins, roles, and permissions.
• Create jobs, alerts, and maintain SQL Server Agent schedules.
• Ensure 24x7 production support and SLA adherence.
• Coordinate replication, mirroring, and HA/DR setups.
• Monitor and optimize alerts, replication, and data integrity.
• Collaborate with dev/support teams for deployment needs.

Job description

Your Role

• Total 9 t o12 years of experience into installation and Configuration of SQL server versions 2008 R2; 2012; 2014;2016 (both Stand alone and cluster Instances)
• User and monitoring ticket management and ensuring teams adherence to SLA.
• This is for an inventory of almost 1200 servers for each client. 850 of them being production.
• Protecting the databases by taking different kinds of Backups such as Full; Differential; and Transactional log backups.
• Maintained & Monitored Alert/Schedule to make smooth replication process.
• Performing data refresh activities from production to Dev/Test on need basis Working closely with application development and support team to understand their requirements and provide timely solutions; for both current and future projects.
• Configuring replication; mirroring; SQL clusters and troubleshooting issues.
• Creating Jobs and Sending Alerts using SQL Mail.
• Ensuring Data consistency in the database through DBCC commands.
• Repetitive issues analysis and proposals for permanent resolutions.
• Monitoring SQL Server agent jobs/maintenance plans Provide 24 * 7 Production support for the database and application issues.
