Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. is seeking a Principal Data Engineer in Bengaluru to drive Microsoft Fabric-based lakehouse architectures and end-to-end analytics solutions.

You will lead cross-functional teams, design scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, and integrate Power BI across data engineering, data science and BI workloads. The role requires deep expertise in Fabric, Azure Synapse and Data Factory, with a strong emphasis on governance, security and enterprise modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• In-depth Microsoft Fabric expertise including Lakehouses, Warehouses, DirectLake mode and Power BI integration.
• Expert Azure knowledge; cloud architecture with security, governance and orchestration.
• Advanced Delta Parquet storage, T-SQL, Spark notebooks and enterprise ELT experience.
• Strong analytical, team-building and structured communication skills.
• Proven leadership in large enterprise modernization programs and cross-functional delivery.

We are currently seeking a MS Fabric - Principal Data Engineer to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Core Responsibilities

• Fabric Lakehouse — Architect and implement Lakehouse solutions using OneLake, Delta tables, and Fabric pipelines.
• Power BI & Fabric Integration — Enable end‑to‑end analytics workflows across data engineering, data science, and BI.
• ETL/ELT Pipelines — Design end-to-end analytics workflows combining OneLake, Data Factory pipelines, and Synapse Data Engineering. Build scalable ingestion and transformation pipelines using Dataflows Gen2, Notebooks, and Pipelines.
• Cloud Architecture — Leverage Azure services for ingestion, security, governance, and orchestration.
• Team Leadership — Lead engineering teams, conduct architecture reviews, and ensure delivery quality.
• Customer Engagement — Drive workshops, solution design sessions, and modernization strategy discussions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Microsoft Fabric Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Lakehouses, Warehouses, DirectLake mode, and Power BI integration.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Azure (or multi-cloud architectures with AWS/GCP).
• Data Warehousing: Advanced expertise in Delta Parquet storage format, T‑SQL, Spark notebooks, and enterprise ELT.
• Soft Skills: Outstanding analytical mindset, team-building skills, and structured communication.
• Strong experience with Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Power BI, and Fabric components.
• Expertise in SQL, Spark, Delta, and modern data‑lake patterns.
• Proven leadership in large enterprise modernization programs.
