Job summary

Hyvision System is seeking an experienced Mold Design Engineer in India to design and develop molds for PU/TPU components. You will prepare detailed 2D/3D drawings, select materials, and ensure dimensional accuracy while coordinating with CNC and production teams.

The role requires strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX), reading engineering drawings, and experience with mold trials, testing, and process improvements. A focus on planning and quality is essential for timely production.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in mold design and manufacturing.
• Knowledge of PU and TPU materials, their properties and processing requirements.
• Experience in designing molds for PU and TPU components.
• Knowledge of mold design concepts, including parting lines, draft angles, shrinkage, clearances and tolerances.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications.
• Knowledge of mold manufacturing processes, machining and finishing requirements.
• Understanding of mold trials, testing, troubleshooting and design modifications.
• Knowledge of production planning, scheduling and shop-floor management.
• Ability to coordinate with CNC machining, production, quality and purchase teams.
• Good problem-solving, team coordination and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop molds for PU and TPU components based on customer drawings and specifications.
• Prepare 2D and 3D mold design models and manufacturing drawings.
• Select appropriate mold materials based on application and production requirements.
• Ensure proper shrinkage allowance, draft angles, clearances and dimensional accuracy.
• Review mold designs before releasing them for manufacturing.
• Coordinate with CNC programmers and machining teams for mold manufacturing.
• Support mold trials, testing and necessary design modifications.
• Troubleshoot mold-related technical issues and implement corrective actions
• Plan and monitor daily production activities related to mold manufacturing and PU/TPU component production.
• Prepare production schedules based on project priorities and delivery requirements.
• Allocate work to operators and technicians based on production requirements.
• Monitor daily production progress and ensure timely completion of jobs.
• Coordinate with the machining, assembly and quality teams to resolve production issues.
• Monitor production efficiency, rejection, rework and machine utilization.
• Ensure availability of raw materials, tools, fixtures and other production requirements.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain daily production reports and update project progress.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety requirements and 5S practices.
