Job summary

Happiest Minds Technologies in Bengaluru is seeking a hardware design engineer with 5-8 years of experience to drive embedded product development from requirements to testing.

You will independently select components, design MCU/MPU/FPGA interfaces (DDR, eMMC, ADC, DAC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth), perform high‑speed analog/digital and mixed‑signal design, and collaborate with firmware, FPGA, mechanical and simulation teams.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of hardware design experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Involved in embedded product development from requirements to testing.
• Expert in selecting components meeting cost, functionality, performance & regulatory needs.
• Independently develop MCU/MPU/FPGA designs with DDR, eMMC, ADC, DAC, Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth.
• Strong high‑speed digital, analog and mixed‑signal design understanding.
• Hands‑on with schematic tools such as Altium or OrCAD.
• PCB layout reviews using Allegro or Altium.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware design across embedded product life cycle.
• Select components balancing cost, performance and regulatory needs.
• Develop MCU/FPGA interfaces and sensor integrations.
• Coordinate with Firmware, FPGA, Mechanical and Simulation teams.
• Perform board bring-up, functional and pre‑compliance tests.

Job description

• 5 - 8 years of experience as a Hardware design engineer.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Active involvement in all phases of an embedded product development (Requirement Analysis to Testing )
• Should be an expert in selecting components meeting cost, functionality, performance, regulatory and non-functional requirements.
• Independently develop micro-controller, micro-processor and FPGA based designs with interfaces/ peripherals such as DDR, eMMC, ADC, DAC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Sensors etc
• Good understanding of high-speed digital design, analog design and mixed signal design
• Hands-on experience in Schematics design tools like Altium, OrCAD or similar
• Experience in performing detailed PCB layout review using Allegro, Altium etc.
• Perform board bring-up tests, functional tests, ESS tests and pre-compliance screening tests for EMI/EMC/Safety etc at third party labs
• Excellent problem-solving/ debugging skills and attention to detail.
• Experience working closely with Firmware, FPGA, Mechanical and Simulation teams
