Job summary

Happiest Minds Technologies in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Hardware Board Design engineer with 5+ years of experience to drive full hardware development for embedded products. The role involves selecting components for cost and performance, and delivering designs with MCU/MPU/FPGA interfaces (DDR, eMMC, ADC/DAC, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth) and mixed-signal expertise.

You will collaborate with firmware and mechanical teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a hardware design engineer.
• Experience across embedded product development from requirement analysis to testing.
• Expertise in selecting components for cost, functionality, performance, and regulatory needs.
• Hands-on with micro-controllers, micro-processors, and FPGA-based designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware design across full development lifecycle (requirements to testing).
• Select components meeting cost, functionality and regulatory requirements.
• Develop MCU/MPU/FPGA based designs with DDR, eMMC, ADC, DAC, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, sensors, etc.
• Perform high-speed digital, analog and mixed-signal design work.
• Conduct board bring-up, functional, EMI/EMC/safety tests at third-party labs.

Job description

Designation: Senior Hardware Board Design

Experience: 5 to 8 years

• 5+ years of experience as a Hardware design engineer.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Active involvement in all phases of an embedded product development (Requirement Analysis to Testing)
• Should be an expert in selecting components meeting cost, functionality, performance, regulatory and non-functional requirements.
• Independently develop micro-controller, micro-processor and FPGA based designs with interfaces/ peripherals such as DDR, eMMC, ADC, DAC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Sensors etc
• Good understanding of high-speed digital design, analog design and mixed signal design
• Hands‑on experience in Schematics design tools like Altium, OrCAD or similar
• Experience in performing detailed PCB layout review using Allegro, Altium etc.
• Perform board bring‑up tests, functional tests, ESS tests and pre‑compliance screening tests for EMI/EMC/Safety etc at third party labs
• Excellent problem‑solving/ debugging skills and attention to detail.
• Experience working closely with Firmware, FPGA, Mechanical and Simulation teams
