Qualifications

• Experience supporting Windows imaging, workstation deployment, and OS management.
• PowerShell scripting experience; Python scripting knowledge is a plus.
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Modern Workspace Engineer based in India.

This role supports and continuously improves a modern workstation environment across operating systems, applications, and endpoint management. You will help establish secure, consistent workstation standards while ensuring reliable services for end users. The position combines hands-on technical engineering with application deployment, endpoint administration, troubleshooting, and operational support. You will work closely with technical teams, business users, and peer groups to deliver effective desktop services and support technology initiatives. The role also contributes to projects focused on security, performance, patching, vulnerability mitigation, and platform stability. As a key escalation point, you will provide advanced support while helping improve processes, documentation, and the overall user experience.

Accountabilities:

• Define, maintain, and improve workstation operating system standards and desktop images to promote consistency, security, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with technical teams, peer groups, and business users to support workstation standards and resolve desktop-related needs.
• Gather business requirements for applications and coordinate targeted software deployments using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Intune.
• Package, test, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise applications throughout their lifecycle, including SAP and engineering applications.
• Support workstation imaging, deployment processes, image maintenance, and endpoint configuration activities.
• Contribute to patching initiatives and baseline compliance across the workstation environment.
• Assist with workstation vulnerability remediation and other endpoint security activities.
• Provide timely, customer-focused troubleshooting for user incidents and service requests.
• Deliver Tier 3 support for escalated workstation, application deployment, and endpoint management issues.
• Contribute to queue management, ticket resolution, and continuous improvement of support processes.
• Provide basic project coordination, including task tracking, planning assistance, and status follow-up.
• Create and maintain technical documentation covering operating system changes, application deployments, support procedures, and operational processes.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
• 4–6 years of relevant professional experience in workstation engineering, desktop administration, endpoint management, or a related technical field.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Microsoft Intune administration.
• Experience with enterprise application packaging, software deployment, and deployment troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting Windows imaging, workstation deployment, and operating system management.
• Practical PowerShell scripting experience; Python scripting knowledge is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of SQL commands and working with data sources.
• Experience creating Power BI reports using data from multiple sources.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Microsoft certifications are a plus.
• Field technician or hands‑on desktop support experience is preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical users.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness and ability to learn new tools, technologies, and processes as the environment evolves.
