Job summary

HCL Technologies Limited in Hyderabad seeks a Mobile Security Developer focused on Android to own the Android component of our Runtime Protection Agent and to build a lightweight, performant SDK.

You will lead development for Android (Kotlin/Java), implement native C++/JNI, and collaborate with the iOS team to ensure a cross‑platform security posture. You will also create the Android demo app and support product teams with SDK integration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years mobile development with deep Android (Kotlin/Java) expertise.
• Strong knowledge of iOS development (Swift/Obj-C) for cross‑platform work.
• Proficiency in C/C++, JNI, and ARM device security concepts.
• Thorough understanding of Android security model and system APIs.
• Experience with reverse engineering and security testing tools.

Position Summary: You will be a key member of our security team, taking primary ownership of the Android component of our Runtime Protection Agent. Your mission is to build a lightweight, performant SDK that detects and mitigates threats on Android devices, while collaborating closely with your iOS counterpart to maintain a consistent, cross-platform security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and maintenance of the Runtime Protection Agent SDK for Android (Kotlin/Java).
• Implement and optimize low-level native code (C++/JNI) to detect threats like rooting, debuggers, emulators, and instrumentation frameworks (e.g., Frida).
• Collaborate with the iOS team to align on threat detection logic and ensure a unified SDK architecture across platforms.
• Create and maintain the Android demo application and support product teams with SDK integration.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of mobile development experience with deep, expert-level proficiency in Android (Kotlin/Java).
• Demonstrable experience with or strong knowledge of iOS development (Swift/Objective-C) is required for effective cross-platform collaboration.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++, JNI, and ARM device security (including ARM architecture, TrustZone, hardware-backed crypto modules, and low-level kernel interactions).
• Deep understanding of the Android security model, permissions, and low-level system APIs. A working knowledge of the iOS security equivalent is a major plus.
• Experience with reverse engineering and tamping tools is highly desirable.
