Job summary

Amex GBT in Bangalore is seeking an Enterprise Middleware Engineer to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise integration platforms like GoAnywhere MFT, AWS MSK, IBM MQ, and ElastiCache. You will own platform operations, automation, incident management, and capacity planning while collaborating across security, networking, and cloud teams to enable secure data movement at scale.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years in middleware/integration/platform engineering roles with production systems.
• Hands-on admin experience with at least two of Kafka (AWS MSK), GoAnywhere MFT, AWS ElastiCache, IBM MQ.
• Strong understanding of messaging/integration concepts: queues, topics, delivery semantics, retries and back-pressure.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and support GoAnywhere MFT workflows and onboarding.
• Operate and maintain AWS MSK clusters: brokers, topics, partitions, replication, upgrades.
• Administer IBM MQ environments: Queue Managers, channels, SSL/TLS, HA/DR, monitoring.
• Manage AWS ElastiCache (Redis/Memcached): scaling, backups, tuning.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness and runbooks.
• Collaborate with application teams on integration patterns and connectivity solving.
• Build observability with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerts for Kafka/MQ/MFT/Cache.
• Handle production incidents, perform RCA, and drive service improvements.
• Tune MQ/Kafka performance and ElastiCache parameters.

The Enterprise Middleware Engineer is responsible for the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise integration and messaging platforms, includingGoAnywhere MFT,AWS ElastiCache,AWS MSK (Kafka), andIBM MQ. This role owns platform operations (build, run, and support), automation, incident/problem management, capacity planning, and works closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams to enable secure data movement and event-driven integration at scale.

What You’ll Do

• Administer, configure, and supportGoAnywhere MFT(workflows, secure file transfers, keys/certs, user/partner onboarding, scheduling, auditing).
• Operate and maintainAWS MSK (Kafka)clusters (brokers, topics, partitions, replication, retention policies, upgrades/patching, client connectivity).
• AdministerIBM MQenvironments (Queue Managers, channels, queues, clustering, SSL/TLS, HA/DR, monitoring, performance tuning).
• ManageAWS ElastiCache(Redis/Memcached) including scaling, failover, backups/snapshots, parameter tuning, and performance optimization.
• Ensure high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery readiness (RTO/RPO alignment, failover tests, runbooks).
• Work with application teams on integration patterns, client configuration, connectivity solving, and standards.
• Coordinate with InfoSec, Networking, and Cloud Platform teams on secure network paths (VPC, subnets, security groups, NACLs, private endpoints) Build and maintain observability: metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerts for Kafka/MQ/MFT/Cache.
• Handle production incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), implement corrective/preventative actions, and drive service improvements.
• Tune MQ/Kafka performance (batching, compression, partition strategy, consumer lag management) and Elasticache parameters.

What We’re Looking For

• 4 - 5 years’ experience inmiddleware/integration/platform engineeringroles supporting production systems.
• Hands-on administration experience (4 - 5 Years) withat least twoof the following:Kafka (AWS MSK),GoAnywhere MFT,AWS ElastiCache (Redis/Memcached), IBM MQ.
• Strong understanding of messaging/integration concepts: queues/topics, pub-sub, delivery semantics, ordering, retries, dead-letter handling, and back-pressure.
• 4 - 5 Years of experience with Linux administration, networking fundamentals (DNS, TLS, firewalls, ports), and troubleshooting distributed systems.
• Working knowledge of AWS core services and constructs: VPC, IAM, EC2, CloudWatch, security groups, KMS, Secrets Manager/Parameter Store.
• Production support experience includingincident management, RCA, and change/release processes.
• Scripting/automation skills (Python/Shell) and familiarity with IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Excellent documentation and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep expertise in one or more platforms: IBM MQ: MQ clustering, multi-instance QM, AMS, advanced channel auth records (CHLAUTH), TLS mutual auth.
• Kafka/MSK: broker sizing, partitioning strategy, consumer lag tuning, ACLs/SASL, schema registry patterns, MirrorMaker/replication.
• GoAnywhere MFT: advanced workflows, API integration, PGP automation, partner lifecycle management, compliance auditing.
• ElastiCache Redis: clustering/sharding, replication groups, persistence strategy (AOF/RDB), latency tuning.
• Experience implementing DR strategies and performing resiliency testing (game days / failover drills).
• Certifications (nice-to-have): AWS Certified SysOps/DevOps, IBM MQ certification, Confluent/Kafka training, security fundamentals.
