Job summary

Cambay Solutions is seeking an experienced Microsoft BI Consultant with strong Microsoft Fabric expertise to design, develop, and implement modern BI solutions for clients. You will work on Power BI reports, semantic models, and Fabric-based analytics.

The role requires hands-on experience with Power BI, DAX, SQL, and Fabric capabilities such as OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, and Dataflows Gen2 to deliver scalable BI solutions and data-driven insights for enterprise clients.

Qualifications

10+ years in Microsoft BI / Data Analytics.
Hands-on Power BI and DAX experience.
Experience designing data models and star schemas.
Hands-on Fabric experience with Lakehouse/Warehouse.
Experience with Fabric Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2 and OneLake.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy enterprise Power BI reports and dashboards.
Build complex DAX measures, KPIs, and business logic.
Create optimized semantic models using star schemas.
Implement connectivity modes: Import, DirectQuery, Direct Lake.
Develop Fabric-powered analytics solutions and pipelines.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft BI Consultant with strong Microsoft Fabric expertise to design, develop, and implement modern Business Intelligence and data analytics solutions for our clients.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT, semantic models, and enterprise reporting. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable and actionable BI solutions.

Microsoft Fabric experience should include working with capabilities such as OneLake, Lakehouse, Fabric Data Warehouse, Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, semantic models, and Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

Business Intelligence & Power BI

Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade Power BI reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions.
Develop complex DAX measures, calculated columns, KPIs, and business logic.
Build optimized Power BI semantic models using star schema and dimensional modeling principles.
Implement appropriate connectivity modes including Import, DirectQuery, and Direct Lake where applicable.
Develop interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable business insights.
Optimize Power BI reports, datasets, DAX queries, and overall report performance.
Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and other Power BI security requirements.

Microsoft Fabric

Design and implement end-to-end analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
Work with OneLake, Lakehouse, Fabric Data Warehouse, Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, notebooks, and Power BI.
Develop and manage Fabric Lakehouse and Warehouse solutions for enterprise analytics.
Build data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Fabric Data Factory.
Develop ETL/ELT workflows using pipelines, Copy Jobs, Dataflows Gen2, SQL, and other Fabric capabilities. (Microsoft Learn )
Develop curated data layers to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
Work with Fabric semantic models and establish reusable business metrics and definitions.
Support migration of traditional BI/data warehouse workloads to Microsoft Fabric.
Assist in designing modern Lakehouse and Warehouse architectures based on business and technical requirements.
Work with OneLake to support centralized and governed enterprise data analytics. (Microsoft Learn )
Develop data integration solutions from multiple sources including SQL Server, Azure services, APIs, Excel, SharePoint, Dynamics 365, and other enterprise applications.
Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT processes.
Develop data transformation workflows using SQL, Power Query/M, Dataflows Gen2, and Fabric pipelines.
Work with incremental loads, CDC, data cleansing, transformation, and data quality processes.
Collaborate with data engineers to ensure reliable and performant data pipelines.

SQL & Data Modeling

Write complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
Design enterprise data models, dimensional models, data marts, and analytical datasets.
Develop and optimize relational data warehouse structures.
Analyze and troubleshoot data quality and performance issues.
Apply appropriate data modeling patterns for BI and reporting workloads.

Consulting & Client Engagement

Work directly with clients and business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
Conduct requirement-gathering and discovery workshops.
Translate business requirements into technical BI/Fabric solutions.
Provide recommendations on BI architecture, data modeling, reporting, and analytics strategy.
Create technical documentation, solution designs, data models, and implementation plans.
Present solutions and demonstrations to technical and business stakeholders.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior BI developers.
