Job summary

Talbros Engineering in Haryana, India seeks a Metallurgical Laboratory Technician to perform metallurgical testing on raw materials, forged components, and heat-treated parts, and to prepare specimens for microstructural evaluation.

You will conduct hardness tests (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers), evaluate grain size and inclusions, maintain equipment, prepare inspection reports, assist in failure analysis, and coordinate with production and quality teams while upholding safety and 5S standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform metallurgical testing on raw materials, forged components, heat-treated parts.
• Prepare metallographic specimens through cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching for microstructural evaluation.
• Conduct hardness testing (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers, and Microhardness) as per specifications.
• Evaluate grain size, microstructure, decarburization, case depth, inclusions, and heat treatment results.
• Maintain laboratory equipment through routine calibration, preventive maintenance, and verification.
• Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory reports, inspection records, and test certificates.
• Assist in failure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective actions related to material and heat treatment issues.
• Coordinate with Production, Heat Treatment, Quality, and Supplier Quality teams to resolve metallurgical concerns.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety practices, 5S, and quality management system requirements.
