Job summary

Electromech Infraproject Ltd. in Mumbai seeks a Senior Manager - Design MEP to lead all MEP design activities across data centers, commercial and industrial projects.

You will drive engineering excellence, governance, and timely delivery while coordinating with architects, clients and BIM teams. The role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire fighting systems, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit/BIM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related MEP field.

Role Overview

The Senior Manager- Design MEP will lead and manage all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing functions across Data Centre, Commercial, Industrial, and Infrastructure projects. The role focuses on ensuring engineering excellence, effective planning, design coordination, and timely project execution. The incumbent will drive technical governance, support procurement and commercial activities, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage MEP design activities for multiple projects from concept to detailed design and execution.
• Review and approve MEP design drawings, calculations, specifications, BOQs, and technical documents.
• Coordinate Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and other MEP services to ensure integrated and clash-free designs.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, statutory requirements, and client specifications.
• Review design inputs, identify technical gaps, and provide appropriate engineering solutions.
• Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, project teams, clients, and other stakeholders for design integration.
• Manage the design team and allocate work based on project requirements, priorities, and timelines.
• Monitor design deliverables and ensure timely submission, review, and closure of comments.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to engineers and designers.
• Coordinate with BIM teams for model development, clash detection, coordination, and design optimization.
• Review shop drawings, technical submittals, material specifications, and method statements related to MEP services.
• Support estimation and pre-bid teams by providing technical inputs, design assumptions, and quantity-related information.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering, design optimization, and cost reduction without compromising quality or performance.
• Coordinate with execution teams to resolve design-related site issues and provide timely technical clarifications.
• Review and incorporate client, consultant, and site feedback into design deliverables.
• Maintain proper documentation of design revisions, approvals, technical submissions, and design changes.
• Ensure effective design change management and assess the impact of changes on cost, scope, and project timelines.
• Support project teams during testing, commissioning, and handover by resolving design-related technical issues.
• Ensure adherence to company quality, safety, and design management procedures.
• Develop and maintain standard design practices, templates, checklists, and technical guidelines.
• Mentor and develop the MEP design team to improve technical capability and performance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related MEP engineering discipline.
• 1015 years of relevant experience in MEP design, engineering, coordination, and project execution.
• Strong experience in handling MEP design for commercial, industrial, data center, IT park, warehouse, or similar projects.
• Experience in managing multidisciplinary MEP design teams and multiple projects.
• Experience in client, consultant, architect, and project team coordination is preferred.

• Strong technical knowledge of MEP design and engineering principles.
