Job summary

Lodha in Mumbai seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer with 6–10 years BE or 10–12 years Diploma experience to lead PHE and Fire Protection design for residential and commercial projects. The role includes design calculations, coordination with other services, and approvals.

You will review drawings, prepare submissions for authorities, and support procurement and site activities ensuring timely deliverables and real-time problem solving.

Qualifications

• BE in Mechanical Engineering with 6–10 years of relevant experience in design and execution of PHE and Fire Protection systems for residential and commercial projects.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 10–12 years of relevant experience in design and execution of PHE and Fire Protection systems for residential and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control the project deliverables from consultants and contractors.
• Prepare micro schedules for deliverables.
• Review consultant invoices and contractor variation claims.
• Manage resources for in-house working.
• Coordinate with design teams for PHE, fire protection and related services.
• Attend site meetings and respond to RFIs and queries promptly.

Job description

Candidate should be BE in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 6 to 10 years or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in design and execution of PHE and Fire Protection system for residential and commercial projects.

Candidate should meet below Job description,

Technical

• 1. Good understanding of local and international design standards, code & local authority requirements.
• 2. Sound knowledge on Design calculations such as Water demand estimation, Pump Head calculation, Pipe Sizing, STP sizing, Tank sizing, Infra services sizing etc.,
• 3. Sound knowledge of design process from concept to VFC and information flow in respective stage.
• 4. Should be good in space planning for services.
• 5. Should be experienced in review of design documents from Service consultant.
• 6. Should have good knowledge on Rain water harvesting system, WTP, STP and Solid waste management.
• 7. Good understanding of architectural and structural drawings and design intent.
• 8. Coordination level understanding of other services such as HVAC, Electrical, PA SYSTEM, CCTV SYSTEM, BMS SYSTEM, COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, ETC.
• 9. Good in Co- ordination with relevant stake holders for follow up and approvals.
• 10. Good in Review and approval of contractors shop drawings and material submittals.
• 11. Attending site Meetings and Timely review and response to RFI and queries from Site.
• 12. Coordination with Commercial and procurement team for cost inputs and tender technical discussions.
• 13. Active participation in meeting and discussions with valid inputs.
• 14. Technical review of products for rate contract.
• 15. Coordination and document preparation for Authority submission.
• 16. Should be able to provide real time solution wherever possible.

Managerial

• 1. Monitor and control the project deliverables from consultants and contractors.
• 2. Prepare micro schedule for deliverables.
• 3. Review consultant invoice and variation claim by contractors.
• 4. Manage resources for in-house working.

Skills

• 1. Auto CAD Knowledge for review of drawings with basic drafting skill.
• 2. Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Power Point.

• 5. Good People management skill.
